About Radar Agtech

Radar Agtech is a mapping of Brazilian agricultural startups. It is the main source of information for those who want to know an overview of technology-based companies in the sector. Made by Embrapa, SP Ventures and Homo Ludens.

Radar Agtech provides data on the profile, segment, area of activity and location of agtechs. It also reveals who are the investors who have already invested in agtechs in Brazil.

This instrument expands opportunities for Brazilian agribusiness to be increasingly competitive. It is capable of helping those looking for products and services to find innovative solutions. It can support partnership prospecting actions and support decision-making in the different spheres of innovation ecosystems. It also directs the construction of public policies and globally projects the country’s agtech sector.

Directors

The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) is linked to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa). The challenge is to develop a genuinely Brazilian tropical agriculture and livestock model for the production of food, fiber and energy. To this end, it is connected to the production sector, generating opportunities for new agricultural transformation based on open innovation.

SP Ventures was founded 15 years ago by founding partner Francisco Jardim, began its work in the Brazilian venture capital ecosystem as a generalist manager and over the years became increasingly specialized in solutions aimed at the agri-food sector. It has made more than 30 investments throughout its existence, more than 20 of which in agtechs and foodtechs. Currently, SP Ventures manages the AG Ventures II fund, which has a total focus on investment through equity participation in agri-food solutions. Thus, SP Ventures intends to invest approximately U$D 40 Million in agtechs and foodtechs that bring technology to the farm productivity, access to capital for farmers and availability of food for consumers across Latin America.
